| Make sure you have plenty of fiber in your diet, and long soaks in the bath tube with hot water will help relax you anus and help heal the fissures. |
Anal fissures?????????? My 13 year old daughter noticed bright red blood in the toilet after a hard bowel movement. I've been researching, and the most probable conclusion is anal fissures. But there is no pain. Could it be this? |
| It is probably an anal fissure. Stool softeners, high fiber diet and sitz baths for a few days should relieve her. More fiber in the diet should prevent recurrence. If bleeding persists, see a doctor. |
Why is Mexican food bad for anal fissures? Why is Mexican food a problem for anal fissures? I've heard this before, just not sure as to why exactly. |
| because the hot juices from the food get on your skin and it burns. like when its coming out there may be some juice left and it could burn indeed. |

Want to know a dumb trick that works EXTREMELY WELL?
Just use baby diaper creme! The white stuff with zinc in it. It does a tremendous job for all types of hemorhoids, irritations and even fissures. Use it every couple days for a couple weeks.
It is infected chronically and that's why it's not going away - germs hate zinc! |
Natural remedies or oils to heal anal fissures? I just had my second baby 4 weeks ago and had an episotomy. This caused hemis and now an anal fissure. My doctor would only give me hydrocortisone cream but this is not working for the pain. Since my pregnancy I have been taking Ducosate pills (oil) to soften my stools but that also hasn't helped. Any suggestions on natural remedies or oils I could take to relieve symptoms and heal the fissure? I am nursing as well so it has to be baby friendly. Thanks for the advice! |
| I've been right were you are! It's not a great feeling at all. Read this article at www.worst-pregnancy-symptoms.com/Hemorrhoids-during-pregnancy.html and maybe it will be useful in some way. I hope that this will go away soon for you. |
Anal fissures? 3 days ago i woke up with what i thought was a hemaroid. well now it has become external and is causing severe vaginal burning. I'm married and there is no way this is a std. help i can't wipe, sit or barely stand up. has any other female had anything like this. i'm 46 yrs old!!! |
| Hold on, this may be really serious. Go see a gastroenterologist or a gyno right away. He'll probably order an ultrasound of the area. It could be anything. Don't want to name scary possibilities out of the blue, but do yourself a favor and get a.medical opinion asap. |
Do pediatricians treat hemmorhoids or anal fissures? I'm 14 years old and I think I have either a hemmorhoid or an anal fissure and it's been around for a few months. Can I go to a pediatricians and have them look at it and have them treat it? |
| You are 14 and with your kind of problem, you are not likely to be treated by a pediatrician.Go to a gastroenterologist, who will examine you physically and treat accordingly. It may require dietary changes with some medication or proctoscopy or surgery in extreme cases. In the mean time increase fiber in your diet and drink at least 8 glasses of water per day to get rid of constipation which is the root cause of it. |
Are steroid creams (Proctozone HC) effective in treating anal fissures? I've had a stubborn anal fissure for awhile now. I finally went to see a gastroenterologist, who prescribed Proctozone HC (to be used internally). I'm supposed to use it for 2 weeks. But some websites say that steroid creams are ineffective in treating anal fissures. Any truth to this?
In addition to the cream, I'm trying to increase the amount of fiber I get, and am taking baths. |
| I would have thought that steroids do no good at all for healing a wound. Keep your BM's soft; that is the absolute best approach! |
What's better cold packs or hot packs for anal fissures or hemorhoids? I want something that could make me feel less swollen or any other tips to help relieve anal disconfert |
The conventional wisdom is that cold reduces swelling, however that works more for muscle strains than it does in this area of the body. Most people find heat to be more effective -- but not too hot, and sitting in a bath or "sitz" bath with some Epsom salts or sea salt is better than packs.
Witch hazel (hamamelis) which reduces swelling and congestion and has an astringent effect is found in a lot of commercial preparations and wipes -- you can buy a bottle cheap at the drug store along with some facial cleansing pads and make your own wipes on the spot a lot cheaper. Hamamelis cream or ointment from the health food store is a lot more effective than the drug store otc products like Prep. H.
If you develop a dependance on stool softeners, laxatives, etc. etc. you will have a problem for life.
Aesculus (horse chestnut) is another natural source ingredient for swelling and congestion in that area.
Homeopathic treatment is great for these types of problems (including anal skin tags, etc.) so you just might want to consider finding a homeopathic doctor if you want to get rid of this permanently. It also makes good sense to look at your diet. A Homeopath would take this into consideration as well. |
