What are your thoughts on this year's VMA's? (only if you watched! No anti-rants)? My thoughts:
Muse is a band *worth* listening to. Their music may not be too widely known, but they're gonna go places.
Beyonce's performance was really really good. The video was a little too simplistic and sexy for my tastes, but her live performance of it cements her as a great artist.
Taylor Swift also had a really good performance. I absolutely loved the subway idea.
Lady Gaga, oh holy world, this chick needs to find a giant rock to hide all her glitz, gore, and good lord where did she learn to perform under. Start over with *just* the voice and blank canvas.
Where did they dig up Russell Brand? And...why...is he in the public eye? Alright he's got the look, and maybe the humour if you're headed to the crazy shack anyhow, but...no. Just...no.
Kanye West was absolutely horrible for stage-stealing like that. He needs to apologize to Taylor Swift in person.
Green Day had a good performance, better than I would have expected, and the audience involvement thing was really cool.
The Twilight:New Moon segment, I thought, was just weird. They announce the invincible trio, who announce their trailer, and then they disappear. Two others come out? Why couldn't they say who won something, like the others did?
Eminem's win was confusing. I know he's missing DJ AM, and that's *totally* understandable...but he was like a robot. Doesn't make sense.
Jennifer Lopez's dress was weird. Really weird.
Pink's song, wow. She brought out a whole new level of wow. But I do think she could have picked a better song for that particular act.
Jay-Z's "grand finale". Ugh. Almost(almost, not quite) as terrible as Lady Gaga. (Even Alicia Keys was way better in that performance and I usually *don't* like her).
And last but never ever least, Michael Jackson. That tribute was absolutely stellar, along with the movie trailer. Long live MJ, King of Pop!
Alright I'm done, now it's your turn...........What are your thoughts on this years VMA awards show? | The Good:
-Janet Jackson / Michael Jackson tribute
-Pink her performance in the air was amazing
-Beyonce giving Taylor Swift a chance to shine
-Madonna's Michael speech was really good.
The Bad
-Kanye crashing Taylor Swifts speech she's only 17.
-I think Jay Z's performance wasn't worth ending the show he performed a song nobody heard of yet but Alicia did good.
-Russell Brand isn't the best host
-Lady Gagas performance and some of her outfits were creepy | Does anyone as a Muslim truly believe that if you kill non believers you will be rewarded? I don't mean to offend anyone personally about this issue, I just wonder where a terrorist logic comes from.
I also believe most Muslims don't believe in the actions of terrorist like Jihad..
Even though I still do believe you should think of woman as equals, As I have heard of woman being executed after being raped because they got pregnant & being told its there fault for looking sexy & other story's like that.
I have heard George bush killed about 200,000 innocent people while trying to attack a few small terrorist camps & has caused many other problems in Muslim country's.
But surely if its about what George Bush surely you know it will make him more aggressive if you blew up the twin towers or the subway in London.
& Surely it would be easier just to sniper George Bush down then make a elaborate plan to steal planes & attack civilian buildings by crashing the planes into about 4 targets within 10 minutes from each other or even try to take him to an international court for war crimes.
& the decapitation videos trying to scare the public release terrorist from Guantanamo bay, Obviously anyone would know it will make matters worst & Bush would just use it as even more of a excuse to invade muslim country's. | No. Murder is a sin in Islam, and killing people without self defense is not allowed. There is also no such thing as the 72 virgins, that is a propaganda.
You've only heard stories of women in certain Muslim countries. I've lived in a Muslim country my entire life, and I get shocked when I hear such stories too. If I were used to the same sort of treatment, there would be no reason for me to be so. Your right, men and women are not equal in Islam. Women have more rights actually, and if you think women in other religions are treated better, think again. You don't have to be a Muslim to mistreat a woman, and the term 'domestic abuse' wasn't created by Muslims.

djmantx: Why did you leave out the following verses?
Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight you, but do not transgress limits; for Allah loveth not transgressors. 2:190
And slay them wherever ye catch them, and turn them out from where they have Turned you out; for tumult and oppression are worse than slaughter; but fight them not at the Sacred Mosque, unless they (first) fight you there; but if they fight you, slay them. Such is the reward of those who suppress faith. 2:191
Except those who join a group between whom and you there is a treaty (of peace), or those who approach you with hearts restraining them from fighting you as well as fighting their own people. If Allah had pleased, He could have given them power over you, and they would have fought you: Therefore if they withdraw from you but fight you not, and (instead) send you (Guarantees of) peace, then Allah Hath opened no way for you (to war against them). 4:90
And if they break their oaths after their agreement and (openly) revile your religion, then fight the leaders of unbelief-- surely their oaths are nothing-- so that they may desist. 9:12
What! will you not fight a people who broke their oaths and aimed at the expulsion of the Messenger, and they attacked you first; do you fear them? But Allah is most deserving that you should fear Him, if you are believers. 9:13
Allah does not forbid you respecting those who have not made war against you on account of (your) religion, and have not driven you forth from your homes, that you show them kindness and deal with them justly; surely Allah loves the doers of justice. 60:8
Allah only forbids you, with regard to those who fight you for (your) Faith, and drive you out of your homes, and support (others) in driving you out, from turning to them (for friendship and protection). It is such as turn to them (in these circumstances), that do wrong. 60:9 |
